by [[Chuck Missler]] I've been a Christian for 60 years. The Bible has been my primary hobby. Many times throughout my 60 year study history, I've had to revise my view as I learn. Oh, that wasn't quite right. All the way through my life, I try to correct when I discover I can do better. But as I reflect on all those times, every time I've had to change my view, it's always been in the direction of greater precision. It's always in the direction of taking the text even more literally than I did before. So, especially when you get into eschatology and so forth, starting in times, it's really crucial to be precise as to what the original text actually said. Because we often summarize, we get sloppy, and then from that sloppiness, we generate misunderstandings, and we often, many of the divisions among people within the body of Christ, derive from misunderstanding the text. So, we want to be precise and understand what the word is. And I've also come to the view, by the way, if this is helpful, that there are no synonyms. Two words may be synonymous in that they mean almost the same thing, but watch out for that word almost. Because in the subtle differences may be a discovery. So develop an appetite for precision.
