> [!NOTE] Sample > This is a sample membership process that was used when I served as a pastor at First Family Church in Ankeny, IA. ## First-time Visit - A person attends First Family for the first time and fills out a Connection Card (paper or digital). - Following the service, the first-time guest can visit the *Connect Central table/booth/station* by the cafe to ask questions or talk with a member or staff person and receive a free copy of Todd’s book *Home Run: Family, Baseball, and Psalm 128*. - The guest receives a welcome email within 36 hours of attending a First Family service. This email includes a link to an online survey that encourages feedback from the first visit and connects the person to the First Family website. - The guest receives a handwritten note in the mail within 96 hours of attending a First Family service. In addition to a postcard describing the current message series, this note includes a $5 gift card to *Name of Coffee Shop*. - The person receives a letter in the mail approximately one month after the first visit. Included in the letter are another gift card and an invitation to the next FFC Connection Class. ## Second Visit - A person attends First Family for the second time and again fills out a Connection Card. - The person receives an email within 36 hours of the second visit. This email focuses on a specific way the person can get connected at First Family. - The person receives a typed letter in the mail within 96 hours of the second visit. Included in the letter is a second ???? ## Regular Attender - An attender is anyone who regularly attends First Family and is a member of a small group. While attenders are welcome to attend First Family, they do not have the privileges of membership (voting, serving, leading). - An attender is eligible to attend Membership Class after attending First Family for one month. ## Member - A member has the full privileges of membership (voting, serving, leading). This person meets all of the expectations of a member and shows by their life's testimony a commitment to being a disciple of Jesus Christ. - A member is committed to worshipping together, growing in community, and serving as the Holy Spirit equips them and calls them. - A person must be 16-years or older to become a member of First Family. 1.
